ProSmiles Dental Studio is a full-service dental lab. We offer removable restorations in addition to the fixed restorations we are “known” for providing.
No question about it, our removable prosthetic technicians do some cool stuff when producing custom appliances that will serve your patients well. Often, we have offices call us with questions regarding the finish of our dentures. What is the difference between poured, packed, and injected dentures?

Dentures are produced by use/time expectancy. A temporary prosthetic would use the pouring method where a cold cure monomer is poured into a mold where it cures into the temporary appliance. Standard dentures use a heat cured polymer acrylic that is packed into the flask mold which allows for more strength, dimensional stability, and color stability. The injection method allows for a closed flask mold to have pressurized hybrid polymer acrylic injected under pressure into the cast to produce a denture that is stronger than a denture fabricated with the poured or packed acrylic methods; and without the monomer sensitivities.
